EXPERIMENT WEARING MANTRA

Taiwan Indonesia Design Collaboration Programs 2023  

As a designer, experiments with the experience of draping your body in a "mantra," trying to make clothes out of hope, feeling like you are wearing a "mantra." This idea was born after traveling for five days in Taiwan, and on my first day in Taiwan, I learned the culture of playing predictions when I was involved in a "mantra" game. I received a card containing projections and prayer statements. 

Believe it or not, I felt like I was wearing a prayer tag on my body, draping my body, and I imagined if that prayer was draped over my body. I wear it everywhere, even if other people don't see it, and it doesn't look like I'm wearing it either. But only I know if I wear it.

 I used this idea as an initial trial in a presentation on the last day of the workshop and lecture with Kevin Yu-Jui Chou at the Taiwan Indonesia Design Collaboration Programs 2023
